Three A.I.I. volleyball team lands three on All-Conference First team

MAYVILLE, N.D. – Three Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) schools had landed three volleyball players on its All-Conference First team, announced Thursday evening at the banquet hosted by Mayville State University (N.D.). Mayville State is hosting the 2012 A.I.I. Volleyball Conference Postseason tournament, starting with pool play Friday morning at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.
Cal State San Marcos, Jamestown (N.D.) and Ashford (Iowa) – top three teams ranked in the A.I.I. – had three players on the A.I.I. All-Conference list. A total of 15 players are listed on the A.I.I. All-Conference First team list, while six players were named to the Honorable Mention list.
Senior Katie Lee (Fargo, N.D.) of Jamestown College was selected to the A.I.I. Libero of the Year. As of Thursday, she leads the A.I.I. with 623 digs (5.6 digs per set). She ranks ninth in the nation in digs per set.
The A.I.I. Setter of the Year award went to sophomore Alyssa Foster (Portland, Ore.) of Cal State San Marcos. She produces 1316 set assists as of Thursday, which leads the A.I.I. in assists category.
