MAYVILLE, ND – The Mayville State men's basketball team defeated the Oglala Lakota College Bravehearts 99-57 on Sunday afternoon at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, ND.
It was the second match-up of these two teams in as many days. The Comets made a statement by outscoring the Bravehearts 60-24 in the first half, which was a bigger advantage than the final score of the first game (MSU 76, OLC 53).
The Comets kept that momentum going in the second half as they finished the game with a 99-57 victory that featured 50 points from the bench.
Michael Lindsay had a great game for Mayville State, turning in a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lindsay was 7-of-11 from the floor and also had two steals and two assists.
Bench production was key for MSU in this one and Colin Fitz was a big part of that. Fitz scored 15 points (5-for-9 FGs) and grabbed four rebounds.
David Olson followed with 12 points (5-for-8 FGs) and three rebounds.
Charlton Wilson was very effective as a starter for the Comets tonight. Wilson scored 12 points (3-for-3 FGs) and grabbed six rebounds. Wilson was 6-for7 at the free throw line as well in the game.
The Comets had everyone on the roster get into the game and score in this one to stay balanced. Sean Norton (9),

Carroll led the Comets in assists with five of the teams 15 total in the game.
MSU shot well from the free throw line as well going 23-for-32 (72%) in the game.
The Comets (6-6, 0-0) will now have some time off before their next contest in 2013-14. MSU is off until December 30
th when they travel to Fremont, Nebraska to take on Midland University.
