Friday night saw MSU heading west to Scott Gymnasium on the campus of Dickinson State University. Last season the teams split their regular season battles. But DiSU took the season series 2-1 by knocking the Comets out of the 2009 DAC volleyball tournament. The Comets were hoping to avenge that loss in the first meeting of the two schools this season but came up short as DiSU took the game 3-0 (25-19, 26-24 and 25-20).

MSU was led on offense by Ashley Haines as she compiled 12 kills. Kacie Fortmann was close behind Haines, contributing another 10 kills for the Comets.

Fortmann was also strong on the defensive side. Fortmann and Ashley Torgusson each had nine digs. Emily Liljestrand came up with eight and Brittney Lindgren had seven.
