Mayville State University Athletics

The Mayville State Softball team plays their home games at Paul Karlstad Softball Field, which is located 2 miles west of campus. 

Recent renovations to the field have been made possible by the Portland Park Board, Thor Buildings & Portland Native, Dana Olson. 

The field is named after the long-time member of the Portland Park Board, Paul Karlstad.

For more than 25 years, Mr. Karlstad was a member of the board and took care of the softball field by doing such things as mow the grass and paint the foul lines.

Before Mr. Karlstad passed away in 2015, the softball field was named after him for his time and dedication to area athletics in the Mayville-Portland community.

  
Softball & Baseball have 24/7 access to 3 indoor batting cages located across the hall from the weight room on the south side of the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse - better known as the wellness center gym. Both team's locker rooms are located just steps away.
