The Mayville State University football team saw its season come to an end on Sunday as the Comets fell to Jamestown College 48-14 during the Dacotah Bank DAC Bowl held in Fargo, North Dakota.
Jamestown jumped out to a 20-0 lead before
Dominique Bradley got the Comets on the board with a three-yard touchdown run to make it 20-7. Jamestown would add one more score before the halftime break to go up 28-7.
Jamestown rode that momentum into the second half and put the Comets away early in the second half with a series of scores. The Jimmies connected on a 38-yard touchdown pass in the third to go up 35-7 and soon after blocked a punt and returned it 15 yards for another touchdown to go ahead 42-7. Jamestown made its final score of the afternoon with an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown at the 5:00 mark in the third quarter.
With the score 48-7 in the fourth quater, Mayville put together a drive and capitalized on it with another Bradley touchdown run from one yard away with 9:11 left to make it 48-14.
Neither team would score from that point on and the final score would remain 48-14.
The Comets end the 2010 season with an overall mark of 2-8 and the Jimmies finished their season at 5-5.
