Just six seconds into the second quarter, Minot State topped off a 9 play, 70 yard drive with a 12 yard touchdown scramble. They then followed it up with a quick 3 play, 91 yard touchdown
drive that only took 31 seconds off of the clock.

The second half wasn't much more kind to the Comets. Minot State once against started off the scoring, tagging another touchdown onto the scoreboard.
The Comet offense kept battling, though, and found the end-zone with 12:45 to go in the game. After 5 plays and 77 yards, MSU found itself at the 3 yard line. Quarterback
Tanner Carpenter dropped back and found Lance Stillborn in the end-zone for the touchdown.
Minot State finished the game's scoring with one last touchdown to take the victory with a final score of 42-10.
Carpenter led the MSU offense with 10 pass completions, four of which were to
Taylor Elsenheimer for 54 yards.
Mitch Ford led the rushing effort with 10 carries for 37 yards.
The loss brings Mayville State to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Dakota Athletic Conference. The Comets return to action at home next Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1:30, taking on Black Hills State University in the 16th Annual Farmers Bowl.
