The Mayville State University volleyball team bounced back during the second day of competition at the Hannibal-LaGrange Tournament, winning two matches before returning home to Mayville after a three-day road trip to Missouri.
MSU had lost its first two games of the tournament to Baker University and MidAmerica Nazarene the day before, and rebounded to defeat Avila University and Central Methodist University during the final day of play.
In game one the Comets defeated Avila University by game scores of 25-17, 25-20, 19-25, 20-25, and 15-13.
Josette Glatt led the Comets with 17 kills,
Brittany Olson had 16 kills, and
Abagail Anderson had 10.
Laura Kolness led the Comets with 35 assists and
Emily Liljestrand led the Comets with 24 digs.
During the second game MSU defeated Central Methodist by game scores of 29-27, 23-25, 25-15, and 25-18. Glatt led the Comets once again with 15 kills and Olson finished the match with 14 kills. Kolness had a team-high 29 assists and
Ashley Torgusson led the Comets with 17 digs.
