Mayville State volleyball team wins fourth straight match with three games to one victory over Dakota State

The Mayville State University volleyball team won its fourth straight match on Friday night with a three games to one victory over Dakota State University at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D.

MSU took games one and two by scores of 25-22 and 25-17 before nearly closing out the match in game three before coming up short 24-26. The Comets left no doubt in the fourth and final set winning by a convincing score of 25-15 to secure the victory.

Brittany Olson had 16 kills to lead the Comets offense and Nikki Roholt continued to play well with 14 kills of her own. Laura Kolness and Ariana Odegard set up hitters all night, finishing with 24 and 23 assists respectively. Emily Liljestrand led the Comets in digs with 19 and Ashley Torgusson added 11. Roholt anchored the Comet defense with seven blocks while Olson and Abagail Anderson each had five.

The Comets are now 16-7 on the season and will play again in Mayville this weekend.
