MAYVILLE, N.D. – September 11, 2013:
Katie Wangberg recorded 31 assists, eight digs, and seven kills in the Mayville State University Comets volleyball team's 3-1 loss to the Minot State University Beavers on Wednesday night. The Comets fought their NCAA Division II opponent hard in all four games with scores of 25-20, 17-25, 25-21, and 25-21.
Josette Glatt led the team in kills with 14 and
Remington Werner followed with eight for Mayville State University.
Wangberg and
Kaitlyn Timian each added seven kills and
Betsy Smith paced the defense with 12 digs in the match.
The Comets are now 3-10 on the season and will be on the road this weekend to Peru, Nebraska for four games in two days. The team plays AIB and Friends University on Friday at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively. On Saturday they take on Grace University and College of St. Mary's at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
Mayville State University next plays at home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 against the University of Jamestown. There will be a JV game starting at approximately 5:00 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:00 p.m.
