The Comets Volleyball team looked to wrap up their homestand with a victory against long-time rival Jamestown, but the Jimmies balance proved to be too much.
The Comets started off slow in Set 1, as Jamestown slowly pulled away and finished off a 25-15 victory. Set 2 started much brighter for the Comets as they moved out to an early lead, but momentum shifted the Jimmies way as they pulled off a furious comeback with a 27-25 win. Jamestown managed to stay just ahead of the Comets for all of Set 3, and took the match with a hard-fought 25-21 win.
Josette Glatt led the Comets with 11 Kills,
Katie Wangberg dished out 26 Assists,
Paige O'Connor racked up 15 Digs and
Kyla Bugner recorded 3 Blocks.
The Comets finished off their homestand with a 5-2 record, leaving their overall record at 12-10 and 4-3 in the North Star. The Comets return to the road next week as they travel to Forest City, Iowa to battle the Waldorf Warriors Thursday, then compete in the Waldorf Tournament Friday and Saturday.
