Brogan Thoren returned a Taylor pass 90 yards to take back the lead 18-13 early in the third quarter. Taylor came back to score on a 2 yard sneak as Trinity went back on top 20-18. The Comets came right back on the next drive, as John Poppe tossed a 11 yard TD pass to Lance Jackson to give the Comets a 25-18 lead. Octavius Hayes opened the 4th quarter with a 2 yard run to make the score 39-20. Trinity wouldn't give up, as Taylor threw 2 more TD passes to make the score 39-32. Trinity's PAT was blocked and Will Irvin returned it for 2 points, making it a 2 possession game. Flanders iced the victory with a 47 yard touchdown run, his fourth of the day, making the final score 47-34.
