The #23 Comets Women's Basketball team traveled to Wisconsin to battle a future conference foe in Viterbo University.
Mayville State opened the first half much as they finished their last game against Johnson & Wales, with smothering defense and opportunistic offense. They held the Hawks to only 25 points and raced out to a 43-25 lead. The Comet defense continued to hold strong, as Viterbo only managed to shoot 31% for the game. The lead never dropped below 13 and the Comets pick up the road victory 78-60.
Liza Hoglo continued her strong play with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Jenna Lundon added 20 points and 2 steals, and
Andi Gayner contributed 15 points and 9 rebounds.
That's 6 wins in a row for the Comets, bumping their overall record to 10-3. Their next game is 1/14 at the Lewy Lee against Trinity College, tipoff at 530.
