The Comets Men's Basketball team finished up their South Dakota Swing on Saturday against the Dakota State Trojans.
The first half was tight throughout with both teams using different ways to generate offense. The Comets shot 53% from the floor while Dakota State only committed 3 turnovers and went 10-13 from the line. Mayville State was able to open up a slight lead by halftime, 41-37. Neither team shot well from the field in the second half, but the Trojans continued to take care of the ball and get to the line to take over the game in the second half to win 71-61.
A.B. Najee led the Comets in scoring with 12, followed by
Garek Droog with 11.
Chuck Robinson hauled down 11 rebounds and
Jamal Branco added 5 assists.
The loss drops the Comets record to 12-9, 0-4 in conference. Mayville State starts a 4 game homestand on Wednesday against Valley City State. Tipoff is @ 730.
