The Comets Women's Basketball team continued their homestand with a game against NSAA foe Dakota State.
Offensively, the Comets had their best half of the season. They shot 62% from the field and got to the free throw line 17 times enroute to a 54 point first half and a 22 point lead. Both teams singed the nets in the second half, as they combined for 100 total points. The Comets lead never dipped below 13 points, however, and they sailed to a 98-84 victory. Mayville State shot 55% for the game and finished with a 46-31 rebounding advantage.Â
Andi Gayner paced the Comets attack with 23 points, followed by
Liza Hoglo with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
Alyssa Lentner added 17 points on only 7 shots and
Jenna Lundon recorded 16 points.
The Comets' record now stands at 15-6, 4-3 in conference. Mayville State finishes their 4 game homestand with a clash against the Presentation College Saints on Saturday, tipoff @ 4pm.Â
