The Comets Men's basketball team looked to extend their winning streak to three games against the Dakota State Trojans Wednesday night.
The first half was closely contested throughout, with nine lead changes, six ties, and neither team managed to take a lead larger than 6. The Trojans opened the second half with 2 buckets, and then the Comets took charge. Over the next 7 minutes, Mayville State ripped off a 19-2 run to grab a double-digit lead. The Trojans chipped the lead down to 2 with just over 5 minutes left, but were unable to regain the lead. The Comets hit 6 of 7 free throws in the final minute to ice the game and win 71-62.

Chuck Robinson shared scoring honors for the Comets with 14 apiece, followed closely by
Jamal Branco with 13 points and 7 assists.
Michael Lindsay hit double figures in rebounds with 11.Â
The win elevates the Comets' record to 15-9, 3-4 in the North Star. Mayville State's final regular season home game is Saturday against the Presentation College Saints, tipoff @ 600.
