The Comets Men's Basketball team looked to continue their winning streak as they traveled to Jamestown to battle the Jimmies. Jamestown did just enough to open up a close game until the end, and the Comets fall 83-72.

The first half was a tightly contested affair, featuring nine lead changes and six ties. The Jimmies managed to open up a seven point lead, only to see the Comets storm back and take a small lead of their own. Jamestown connected on seven triples, but the Comets made up six points from the foul line and after 20 minutes were down 37-35. Mayville jumped all over Jamestown to open the second half, scoring the first 10 points to open up their largest lead. The Jimmies swung momentum back by scoring the next eight points to tie the game again. With five minutes left Jamestown held a slim one point lead and then added a 7-0 run to go up 74-66. The Jimmies hit 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch to snuff out any hopes of a comeback and won 83-72, The decisive stat was turnovers, as Mayville committed 15 while Jamestown only tallied 8.

Chuck Robinson led the Comets with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Jordan Villebrun added 12, Jamal Branco scored 11 and dished out 6 assists and Antar Johnson chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The loss drops the Comets to 11-8 overall, and are back in action Wednesday against Presentation College.
