The Comets looked to finish at .500 for the season with a win against the Presentation Saints on Saturday. However, four first half passing touchdowns by the Saints were too much to overcome in a 49-22 loss.
For the second week in a row, the first quarter was problematic for the Comets as they allowed the Saints to score on a touchdown on their first possession. A bad snap on a punt led to a safety on the next possession. Presentation used another big play to go up 16-0 later in the first, An unsuccessful Comet fake punt gave the Saints excellent field position and led to another score, making the score 23-0 after one quarter. Presentation added another touchdown early in the second to lead 30-0. The Comets put together a 90 yard drive later in the second capped off by a Dondrei Hubbard one yard run to get on the scoreboard, and went into halftime down 30-7. Early in the second half Hubbard notched his second TD run and the Comets converted a 2 pt conversion to chop the lead to 30-15. The Saints used almost eight minutes on the next possession and finished it with another touchdown pass to go up 37-15. Julian Delgado from eight yards out to make the score 46-22. The Saints tacked on a field goal late to win the game 49-22.
Hubbard rumbled for 127 yards and two scores, Blake threw for 154 yards and a touchdown and Dantrel Horne caught three passes for 55 yards.
Ryan Henderson collected 10 tackles and intercepted two passes to lead the Comet defense.
The Comets finish the season 4-6 overall, 2-4 in the North Star.
