Box Score The Comets Women's Basketball team traveled to Jamestown Saturday to take on the #10 Jimmies. An early 17-2 run snowballed into a comfortable Jamestown victory by the score of 92-47.
The Comets'
Andi Gayner scored six early points and halfway through the first quarter the Comets led 11-10. Jamestown turned up the full court pressure, forcing turnovers which led to the run mentioned above, and Jamestown led 27-14. The Jimmies added an 11-2 burst to expand the lead to 20 and finished the first half ahead 46-23. Nothing went right for the Comets in the second half and Jamestown cruised to a 92-47 win.
Gayner led the Comets with 17 points, followed by
Claire Blascziek with 13.
Taylor Skjordal added seven rebounds.
The Comets head into the Christmas break at 4-6, 1-3 in Conference. Mayville State heads out to California to finish 2016, with contests against Cal Maritime and Menlo College.
