Box Score The Comets Women's Basketball team hosted the Dickinson State Bluehawks Saturday afternoon. In a game that featured seven ties, nine lead changes and required overtime, the Bluehawks escaped with a 78-77 win.
The Comets scored the first four points of the game, but the Bluehawks pounded the offensive glass enroute to a 15-3 run to take control of the game early. The Comets chipped the leaddown to four by the end of the first to 23-19. The Comets roared out of the gate in the second, retaking the lead with a 9-0 spurt. Dickinson managed to tie it late in the second but the Comets went into halftime with a slim 36-33 lead. The Bluehawks used a 13-2 run in the third to grab the lead again at 52-46, but the Comets responded by scoring the last five points of the quarter to trim the lead to 52-51 with 10 minutes to go. The Bluehawks clung to a small lead throughout the fourth, but
Andrea Skillingstad hit a layup with under 10 seconds to go to knot the game at 64. In the overtime frame, the Bluehawks connected on four triples, keeping the Comets just out of reach and escaped with a 78-77 win.

Claire Blascziek poured in a career-high 31, including seven three pointers.
Andi Gayner scored 17 and
Naomi Torgerson added 14 points and 8 rebounds.
MacKayla Feeney led five Bluehawks in double figures with 15, followed by Paitton Herbst with 14, Taylor Henningsgard with 13 points and 8 assists, Ashley Bentz-Laub 12 and Lorna Shepherd with 10. Megan Klein hauled in 16 rebounds and blocked three shots.
The Comets record now stands at 3-5. Mayville State travels to Morris, Minnesota on Tuesday to battle the Cougars.
