Box Score The Comets Men's Basketball team hosted the Bellevue Bruins on Saturday evening. Bellevue sprinted out to a 30-5 lead and cruised to a 84-48 victory.
The game was essentially decided in the first 10 minutes, as the Bruins shot 60% from the field and forced seven Comet turnovers to lead 30-5. The Comets settled down a bit and chipped the lead down to 20 by halftime at 47-27. Bellevue slowly but surely expanded their lead throughout the second half as they won going away 84-48. The Bruins held significant advantages in all phases of the game, as they shot an even 50% from the field while holding the Comets to 36%, outrebounded the Comets 38-28. and forced 20 turnovers for the game.
For the Comets,
Daniel Lindgren scored 14 points and connected on all four of his 3-point attempts.
Jeffery Stillman and Jerred Cook led a balanced Bellevue barrage with 14 points apiece, and Jalen Hall also reached double figures with 11 points.
The loss drops the Comets record to 6-9 overall, 0-6 in conference. Mayville State hits the road next weekend to face the Viterbo V-Hawks and Waldorf Warriors.
