MAYVILLE, N.D. – The Mayville State University volleyball team is finally home this week, after spending two weeks on the road at tournaments in Nebraska and Wisconsin.
This week, the Comets will host a game on Tuesday, before travelling to Peru, Nebraska, this weekend for a tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The season home opener this Tuesday will be against the Concordia College Cobbers.
Dating back to 2010, the Comets are 3-7 against the Cobbers.
Last season, the Comets and Cobbers met twice.
The first match was on September 17 at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse, a three-game sweep by the Comets over the Cobbers.
Victoria Johnson (Roseau, Minn.) was among the leaders for the Comets with 13 kills. She was tied with then-player, now-coach, Cassidy (Miller) Przybilla, who also had 13 kills
The second match was on October 8 in Moorhead, a 3-1 win for the Comets.
Johnson and
Hannah Bliss (Nevis, Minn.) were among the leaders in that match, as they each had 11 kills. Przybilla led all with 13 kills.
Scouting the Cobbers
Concordia is led by first-year head coach Faith Dooley. Dooley is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, where she excelled with the Fighting Hawks volleyball team, earning all-conference in four seasons with the Fighting Hawks.
The Cobbers are 1-2, with their lone win of the season coming last Friday against Buena Vista.
Anna Brakke leads the Cobbers with 31 kills, followed by Kendra Wiggs with 24 kills.
Jill Klaphake has 57 assists, leading the way for the Cobbers, followed by Lexi Turn with 55.
Eight Cobbers have double-digit totals in digs, led by Gabby DeBoer's 75 digs. DeBoer is averaging 5.77 digs per set.
Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7
Mayville State at Peru State College Tournament
The Comets will then travel to Peru, Neb., for a two-day tournament, the Peru State College Tournament.
The Comets will open play on Friday with two games. The first game will feature the Comets against Sterling College (Kan.) at 3 p.m., followed by the Comets against the host team, Peru State, at 7 p.m.
Saturday's matches include a 10 a.m. matchup against Mount Marty, and a 12 p.m. matchup against Bethel University.
Following the Comets
Tuesday's match against the Cobbers will begin at 7 p.m.
