Day two of the Comet Classics we look at Volleyball impressive five-set victory over Dakota State in Madison S.D. This was the first time they won in Madison in over 2 years. Unfortuntly, we can not get the video on the game to replay it.
MADISON, SD – A night after a tough three-set loss against the Bellevue Bruins, the Comets came into Madison, S.D., looking for a win against a gritty Dakota State Trojans volleyball team. The Comets and Trojans went back-and-forth, with Mayville State coming out on top with a 3-2 win in North Star Athletic Association action.
"It was great to see us find our block today," head coach
Lindsey Johnson said. "We can do so much more when our block is where it needs to be."
Hannah Bliss led the Comets with 14 kills, with
Kiana Johnson accumulating eight and
Victoria Johnson, seven.
Elora Passa had 32 assists for the Comets. Senior
Jayden Warner led four Comets in double-digit digs, with 42. Bliss had 18 kills, followed by
Mason Hart with 16,
Amy Seim with 14 and Passa with 13.
The Comets improve to 6-5 in the NSAA and 17-11 overall.
The Comets will return home to the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse on Wednesday, where they'll take on the Valley City State University Vikings, before hosting Dickinson State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
