Mayville, N.D. - The Mayville State Volleyball team is traveling to Kansas for four non-conferece games. The Comets will play at McPherson College on September 11th at 3 PM against Bethany College and 5 PM against McPerson College. On Satruday, Mayville State will play Kansas Wesleyan at 9 AM at Central Christian College, then follow up with Central Christian College at 11 AM.
For fans that are traveling this weekend, both sites are hosting fans but McPherson College is requiring you purchasing your tickets online. Here is the link.

Mayville State enters the weekend with a 2-1 record. They played Dakota Wesleyan last week and dropped a five set match to the Tigers. The Comets came back on Sunday and defeated Valley City State and Hastings College on Sunday in the home opener.
Mason Hart picked up NSAA defender of the week honors, finishing the week with 89 digs, a serve reception percentage of 97.2, and a 6.36 digs per set.
Victoria Johnson led the Comets in kills in all three games last weekend with 21 against DWU, 14 against VCSU, and 20 against HC.
Elora Passa finished the weekend with triple-doubles in every match. She finished with 13 kills, 22 assists, and 11 digs against DWU, 10, 16, and 13 against VCSU, and 11, 24, and 12 against HC.
Rachel Hill tallied a team high 70 assists and 28 digs over the three games.
Amy Seim finished second on the team over the weekend with 71 digs, 95.3 serve reception percentage and 5.07 digs per set. The Comets were picked fourth in the NSAA Preseason Coaches Poll with 42 points, Viterbo was picked first with 64 points.
Lindsey Johnson is entering her 13th season as head coach for the Comets.

• The Swedes started the season last week with a 3-0 sweep over Central Christian.
• Jordan Valentine and Paola Sanabria-Lopez each finished the match with 14 kills. Valentine finished with a .346 hitting percentage and Sanabria-Lopez finished with a .393.
• Mia Novakovic finished the weekend leading the Swedes with 19 assists. Shiann Fritzler finished the weekend with 18 assists.
• Haley Reifsteck leads Bethany College with 24 digs, right behind her with 21 is Sanabria-Lopez.
• Bethany College was picked third place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.
• The Swedes are led by Brandi Stewart in her third season as head coach.
Quick Hit on the Bulldogs
• McPherson College finished the weekend with a 2-2 record, with victories over Southwestern College and Friends University.
• They also played conference opponent Dakota State and dropped a five-set thriller to the Trojans.
• Aidan Brown in four matches, leads the Bulldogs 143 total attemps. She is second on the team with 43 kills.
• Morgan Watson is the team leader in kills with 50. Cynarah Rodriquez fin-ished the weekend with 79 assists, averaging 5.27 assists per set.
• Reven Bradbury leads the Bulldogs with 84 digs and a 97.1 serve reception percentage.
• McPherson was picked fifth place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Confer-ence Coaches Preseason Poll.
• The Bulldogs are coached by Cory Cahill in his second season.
Quick Hit on the Coyotes
• The Coyotes opened the 2020 season hosting a tournament and going 2-2 in the tournament. They defeated Southwest College and Bethel College.
• They also played conference opponent Dakota State and dropped a four-set match to the Trojans.
• Maddy Beckett and Morgan Bryand eached tallied 51 kills over the week-end, hitting .150 and .221 respectively.
• Cortney Hanna led the Coyotes with 91 assists over the weekend, averaging 6.5 per set.
• Emily Monson is the team leader in digs with 89 and 2 serve receive errors in 65 attempts.
• Kansas Wesleyan was picked fourth place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.
• The Swedes are led by Brandi Stewart in her third season as head coach.
Quick Hit on the Tigers
• Central Christian played one game against Bethany College and lost by a final of 0-3.
• Atlantis Jamerson led the Tiger attack with 10 kills.
• Andrea Padilla finished the weekend with 16 digs. Kiarrah Carlise was the other CCC player in double figures with 10 digs.
• Aijha Sampsell recorded two service aces against Bethany College.
• Carlise also is leading the Tigers with 81 digs.
• McPherson was picked tenth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.
