Comet Volleyball travels to Waldorf and Viterbo this weekend

Mayville, N.D. - The Mayville State University Volleyball team travels to Waldorf on Friday and Viterbo on Saturday for a North Star Conference Weekend. If you are traveling to these sites this weekend click on the links below to read the spectator guidelines for each school.

Quick Hits on the Comets:
The Mayville State Comets head into the weekend with a 7-2 overall record and 1-0 in conference play. The Comets average 11.8 kills per set, .166 hitting percentage, and 10.2 assists per set. Defensivly, MSU has tallied 18.9 digs per set, 88.0 total blocks, and 2.2 blocks per set. Victoria Johnson leads the Comet offense with 159 kills, a .319 hitting percentage, and 40.0 total blocks on the season. Second on the team in kills is Elora Passa with 97 kills on the season. She is also leading Mayville State in assists with 187. Second on the team in assists is Rachel Hill with 183. Mason Hart has 222 digs on the season with 97.4% serve reception percentage. Amy Seim and Jordyn Lucas have 154 and 122 digs respectivly. The Comets were picked fourth in the NSAA Preseason Coaches Poll with 42 points, Viterbo was picked first with 64 points. Lindsey Johnson is entering her 13th season as head coach for the Comets. 

Matching up with the Warriors:
The Warriors enter this weekend's matchup with a 0-3 overall and 0-1 in North Star play. Waldorf is averaging 8.8 kills per set, 0.051 hitting percentage, 8.0 assists per set, and 17 service aces. The Warriors on defense have 133 digs, 11.0 digs per set, and 15.5 total blocks through three games. Kenzie Kidd is leading the Warrior offense with 32 kills and 41 digs. Second on the team in kills is Charlotte Wright with 22. Kaylee Kidd and Trinity Perez each tallied 24 digs in three games. Kaitlyn Bakke has recorded 92 assists and five service aces. Waldorf University was picked sixth in the North Star Athletic Association Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Warriors are coached by Bri Ebenhoe, in her fourth season at the helm.

Matching up with the V-Hawks:
Viterbo University is entering this weekend with a 1-2 overall record and 1-0 in NSAA play. The V-Hawks as a team is hitting .131 with 132 digs, 10.2 assists per set, and 1.3 aces per set. The Defense has 176 digs for 14.7 digs per set and 18.0 total blocks. Maya Roberts leads the offense with 29 kills, second is Katie Frohmader with 24 kills. Chloe Jakscht is tallying 4.8 assists per set and 57 total assists on the early season. Adrianna Reinhart leads Viterbo with 49 digs in three games. Viterbo is the preseason favorite in the NSAA Coaches' Poll. The V-Hawks are coached by Ryan Delong in his 16th season at the helm.
