Comets runs the ball for a season-high 350 yards in victory over Tigers

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Football team defeated Iowa Wesleyan on Senior day by a final score of 42-12. The Comets finish the regular season with a 2-9 overall record and 2-6 in conference play.

How It Happened:
The Comets fumbled the opening kickoff and the Tigers took advantage of good field position as IWU scored a touchdown to take an early lead.
On the ensuing kickoff, Javeion Davison returned the kick for a touchdown for 82 yards but the PAT was missed so the Comets were still down one.
The Tigers would answer right back and score a touchdown to take an eight-point lead on MSU halfway through the first quarter.
Mayville State would tie the game in the second quarter on a 36-yard touchdown from Cole Dukart followed by a two-point conversion to tie the game at 14 heading into the intermission.
In the first minute of the third quarter, the Comets took the lead on a passing touchdown from Tim Salmon to Austin Urlaub for 31 yards.
Later in the quarter, Danzele Navy picked off the Tigers and returned it to the house from 30-yards to give MSU a two-touchdown lead.
Mason Ollman ran for 88-yards for a touchdown with 14:38 left in the fourth quarter to take full control of the game at 35-14.
Jason Nelson would put the finishing touches on this game on a one-yard touchdown run as the Comets defeated the Tigers 42-14.
