Volleyball starts the second half of the season with five games in four days

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University volleyball team starts the second half of their season this week as they travel to Northwestern on Wednesday and Chicago Friday and Saturday. First serve on Thursday is set for 6:30 on Wednesday against the Eagles. On Friday in Joliet, the games are scheduled for 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Saturday's matches are scheduled for 9:00 am and 11:00 am.

The Comets start the second half of the season on a seven-game road trip including five games over the next four days.
The Comets are currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll with a 13-3 overall record and 5-0 in NSAA play.

Northwestern enters the second half of the season with a 14-5 overall record. The Comets defeated them twice during the fall by a final of 3-1 and 3-0.
The Eagles enter the game with 13.5 kills per set, 12.5 assists per set, 1.3 service aces per set, 18.9 digs per set, and 1.6 blocks per set.
UNW is allowing 10.8 kills per set, 9.7 assists per set, 1.1 service aces per set, 16.2 digs per set, and 1.7 blocks per set.
Kendra Hardy is leading the Eagles with 199 kills on the season and 24.0 total blocks.
Marylyn Schroyer has a team-leading 420 digs on the season, 6.36 digs per set, and 14 service aces.
 
Matching up with the Jaguars:
Governors State enters the week with a 2-3 overall record and 1-2 in conference play. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Matching up with the Spirit:
Ottawa University is entering the week with a 1-1 overall record and 0-0 in GSAC conference. This will be the first matchup between the two schools.
The Spirit is averaging 13.9 kills per set, 13.3 assists per set, 1.9 aces per set, 18.6 digs per set, and 1.5 blocks per set.
