Comets host #11 Bruins and Trojans at Lewy Lee Friday and Saturday

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Volleyball team hosts #11 Bellevue Bruins and Dakota State Trojans on Friday and Saturday at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse for a couple of NSAA Conference games. The first serve on Friday is scheduled for 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Saturday.
 
Quick Hits on the Comets:
The Mayville State University Volleyball team enters the weekend conference matchups with the Bruins and Trojans with an 11-4 overall record and 1-0 in NSAA Play.
Offensively, the Comets average 12.6 kills per set, a .204 hitting percentage, 11.7 assists per set, 45 service aces, and 0.8 service aces per set.
Defensively, MSU is allowing 13.0 kills per set, a .164 hitting percentage, 64 service aces, and 1.2 service aces per set. The Comets have 102.5 total blocks on the season with 29 solo blocks, 147 block assists, and 1.9 blocks per set.

Ashley Pyburn has 115 kills on the season with 41.0 total blocks, seven solo blocks, and 34 block assists. Payton Richter has 198 digs for the Comets with 3.6 digs per set, a .965 serve reception percentage, and nine service aces.
 
Matching up with the Bruins:
The #11 Bellevue Bruins enter the conference matchup with a 9-2 overall record and 1-0 in NSAA play defeating Dakota State last week in straight sets.
The Bruins are averaging 13.7 kills per set, a .229 hitting percentage, 13.0 assists per set, 64 service aces, 1.5 service aces per set.
Defensively, BU is allowing a .158 hitting percentage, 10.4 kills per set, 9.3 assists per set, and 43 service aces. They also have 78 total blocks, 1.8 blocks per set, and 12 solo blocks.
