Comets travel to Waldorf and Viterbo for conference matches

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Volleyball team is in action this week with two conference games on the road at Waldorf Warriors and Viterbo V-Hawks Thursday and Friday. The first serve on Thursday is at 7:00 PM at Forest City, Iowa, and Friday at 6:00 PM in La Crosse, WI.
 
Quick Hits on the Comets:
The Mayville State Comets enter this week's matchup on the road with an 11-6 overall record and 1-2 in conference play.
Last week, the Comets dropped both conference matchups in straight sets to #11 Bellevue and Dakota State.
MSU is averaging a .197 hitting percentage, 12.3 kills per set, 751 kills, 11.5 assists per set, 46 service aces, and 0.8 service aces per set.
Defensively, the Comets have 19.4 digs per set, 110.5 total blocks, 1.8 blocks per set, allowing .182 hitting percentage, 13.5 kills per set, and 12.9 assists per set.
Elora Passa is leading the Comets in kills with 205 and assists with 339 on the season. She also has a .221 hitting percentage, five service aces, and 24.0 total blocks.

Matching up with the Warriors:
The Warriors enter the conference matchup with the Comets with a 7-7 overall record and 0-3 in conference play.
Waldorf Warriors traveled to Valley City State and Dickinson State and dropped both games in four sets.
The Warriors are averaging a .153 hitting percentage, 11.1 kills per set, 10.4 assists per set, 99 service aces, and 2.0 service aces per set.
Defensively, WU is allowing 10.2 kills per set, a .199 hitting percentage, 9.6 assists per set, 2.1 service aces per set. They also have 55 total blocks, 17 solo blocks, and 13.7 digs per set.
Annie Stotlar has a team-high 126 kills, a .243 hitting percentage, 16 digs, and 8 total blocks.

The V-Hawks currently have a .273 hitting percentage with 14.1 kills per set, 12.8 assists per set, 2.0 service aces per set, and 148 service aces.
Defensively, VU is allowing 9.0 kills per set, a .103 hitting percentage, 8.59 assists per set, and 0.8 service aces per set.
Miah Garant leads the V-Hawks with 160 kills on the season, with a .372 hitting percentage and 85 total blocks.
