Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Football team host the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday for the home opener at Jerome Berg Field. The kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday.

The Mayville State Comets dropped a close game last weekend at #20 Roosevelt University by a final of 32-37.
The Comets rushed for 159 yards, passed for 411 yards, for 570 total yards of offense. On defense, they allowed 333 yards rushing, 207 yards passing, for a total of 540 total yards, and forced two turnovers.
Tim Salmon finished last week completing 16 passes on 30 attempts for 411 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 29 yards on eight attempts.

Jelon Hilton led the Comet defense with eight tackles in the loss.
Austin DeLaroque recorded six tackles and forced one fumble for the Comets.
Josiah Walker also picked up six tackles on Saturday with 1.5 tackles for loss for 11 yards and 0.5 sacks for eight yards.
Derrick Prater tallied five tackles and one interception for the Comets and
Travyen Brownlee also had five tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will play the first game of the 2021 season on Saturday at Mayville.
The Pointers did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19 and in 2019 had a 3-7 overall record and 2-5 in conference play.
