Comet Volleyball finishes regular season with five-set victory

Box Score Dickinson, N.D. – The Comet Volleyball team won three straight sets after dropping the first two on Thursday evening in the regular season finale.

How It Happened:
The Comets would start the first set slow and would be trailing by five early and would never get any closer as Dickinson would take the first set 25-21.
Mayville State was winning 17-15 before the Blue Hawks would go on a 5-2 run to jump out to the lead and would take the second set 21-25.
The third set was tied at 20 when MSU would go on a 5-2 run with a kill by Pyburn and an ace by Hadrava to force the fourth set.
Mayville State would cruise to a fourth-set victory by a score of 25-17 to force the fifth and final set. The Comets were up 10-8 in the fifth set and would finish the match on a 5-2 run to win the fifth and deciding set.
Mayville State finished the game with 60 kills, a .198 hitting percentage, 8 service aces, 102 digs, and 7.0 total blocks.
