How It Happened:
Mayville State started the first set up 7-4 before PC would go on a run and would jump out to an 11-7 lead on the Comets. The Presentation College Saints would go on and win the first set by a final score of 18-25.
In the second set, MSU would hold a 16-10 lead and the Saint would fight back again and would tie the game at 24. The Comets would take a 25-24 lead on a Passa kill but PC would score four of the next five points and take the second set by a final of 26-28.
The Saints and Comets were tied at 16 in the third set and MSU would hold another late lead in the third set by a score of 22-19 and would prevail 25-20 and force the fourth set. In the fourth set, the Comets would tie the game at 23 with a 12-3 run highlighted by four kills by Kortan. PC would score the next point to give them a match point, but MSU would score the next three points and force a fifth set.
Mayville State carried the momentum in the fifth set and would start the set on a 7-1 run and was leading by 9-4. The Saints tried to come back in the fifth set but MSU held the lead and take the fifth set by a final of 15-9. The Comets finished the match with 51 kills, and 35 attack errors for a .067 hitting percentage, with 50 assists, 3 service aces, 150 digs, and 6.0 total blocks.
