MAYVILLE STATE ESPORTS — 2025–26 SEASON RECAP

Mayville, N.D. - Mayville State Esports closed out its strongest season yet with a national runner‑up finish in the NECC Division IX Rocket League National Championship on May 6. The Comets went toe‑to‑toe with the Montana Griz in a seven‑game thriller, pushing the match all the way to the final round. It was a battle of momentum, mechanics, and pure hearts and Mayville State proved they belong among the best in the country.

Just one day earlier, the Comets punched their ticket to the title match with a dominant 4–0 sweep over the University of Washington on May 5. That semifinal performance was one of the most complete Rocket League showings in program history.

But Rocket League was only part of the story.

A PROGRAM ON THE RISE

This year, Mayville State Esports continued expanding its competitive footprint, fielding teams in:

  • Rocket League
  • Valorant
  • Call of Duty
  • Additional titles as interest grows

Across every game, the Comets showed improvement, teamwork, and a growing culture of accountability and competitive drive.

This was a team‑first year, built on shared effort rather than individual spotlights — a group that bought into the grind, trusted each other, and raised the standard for what Mayville State Esports can be.

FACILITY & EQUIPMENT UPGRADES

The program continues to invest in its future:

  • New gaming chairs were added this season
  • Computer upgrades are planned for this summer
  • A major room upgrade is targeted for after Christmas next year

Step by step, the Comets are building a space that matches their competitive ambition.

ALWAYS RECRUITING — ALWAYS BUILDING

Mayville State Esports is actively recruiting all titles and is looking to expand into even more games. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a rising high‑school player looking for a home, the Comets want to hear from you.

This is a program on the rise — and the next wave of talent will help shape the future.

If you want to compete, grow, and be part of something that's building momentum every single semester, now is the time to join.

THE COMETS ARE JUST GETTING STARTED

A national championship appearance is not the finish line — it's the launchpad.

The culture is stronger. The expectations are higher. The future is wide open.

Mayville State Esports is here, and the best is still ahead.
