Wade Smethers enters his second full season as assistant coach and his primary duty is offensive coordinator and QB Coach. Smethers was hired in March of 2020 to become the new Offensive Coordinator/QB coach for the Comet Football.
Wade Smethers comets from University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he was the WR coach and Equipment Coordinator for the past three seasons. While at UW-Stout, he coached Kevion McDonald to 1st Team All-Conference, Levy Hamer to 2nd Team All-Conference in two separate seasons, and Tyler Seymour to 2nd Team All-Conference.
Before UW-Stout, he coached for three seasons at University of Wisconsin-River Falls from 2015-17, where he was the WR Coach. He did multiple other positions for the Falcons including Video Coordinator, Youth Camp Coordinator, Co-Special Teams Coordinator, and Co-Equipment Coordinator. For the Falcons, he coached Trent Monson to a 2nd Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention in the conference.
Smethers played Quarterback and Tight End at UW-River Falls from the years of 2010-2014. He graduated from UW-River Falls in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Coaching.
