Mayville State University Athletics

Travis Janich sas born in Anoka, MN and raised in Moorhead, MN. He graduated from CLC-Brainerd, MN in 2002 with a AA Degree, and graduated from MSU-Moorhead 2006 with a  B.S. Physical Education/ DAPE Liscensure and minors in Health Education/ Coaching.

Last season he spent his time at Central Lakes College as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, finishing the season 20-7, first in the conference and a third place finish in the State Tournament. Janich's main responsibility was recruiting.

He's spent the past 5 years as a Residential framer/ Remodeling carpenter, currently working with clients that have fire or water damage to their residential homes.

From 2006-2012 he spent time as a Substitute Teacher. Also, he taught Physical/ Health Education at Shiloh Christian in Bismarck, ND and Park Christian in Moorhead, MN. Along with teaching, he coached middle school football, middle school basketball, JV girls basketball and 9th grade boys basketball. Also, from 2007-2015 Janich officiated basketball and volleyball at all levels, including some time as a college volleyball official.  

Janich spent his childhood playing AAU basketball with home grown talent at a high level winning multiple tournaments and advancing to national tournaments. He started varsity/ team captain as a junior and participated in three state tournaments in high school, finishing third place his senior season with a 22-5 record where he achieved his dream to play on the William's Arena court on the University of Minnesota campus. 

He played two years as a starter/ captain at CLC-Brainerd, MN where his team finished with the most wins in school history and tied for first place in our conference, finishing 20-7. He wrapped up his career at Mayville State University under head coach Craig Smith, finishing 17-14, second in the conference and advancing to the national tournament. The team was known as the "One Win, to IN" Team!

He and his wife, Anna, have been married for 10 wonderful years with two beautiful girls Audrey (10) and Jalynn (6), where they live in a house Janich designed and built in Moorhead, MN. The family's faith and trust in Christ have been their rock through the years. We are with the Assemblies of God Church.
