Mayville State University took on No. 5 ranked Morningside College during the first game of the Morningside Classic in Sioux City, Iowa on Friday, November 5th.
Morningside jumped out to a 52-38 lead over the Comets after one half of play and then pulled away in the second half to earn a 114-73 victory over MSU.
MSU had four players in double figures in the loss, led by Hailey Longtin's 14 points. Longtin was 5-of-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. The freshman guard added four assists and three steals in the contest.
Erin Ericson finished with 12 points for the Comets with three three-point shots while Eli Cosme-Gonzales and Danielle Jackson finished with 11 apiece.
The Comets are now 0-2 on the young season and will move on to face No. 21 ranked Hastings College on Saturday, November 6th.
