DICKINSON, N.D. – The Comet women played the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks in the second day of the Dickinson State Classic on Saturday, November 30, 2013. The two teams went back and forth throughout in a tightly contested match-up, but in the end it was the Blue Hawks that came away victorious by a final score of 85-83.

The Comets trailed DSU 42-39 at the half after struggling to hit shots in the first half. MSU shot just 30% in the first 20 minutes of the game going 12-for-39 from the floor.

The Comets got it rolling in the second half shooting 42% from the floor, including 8-of-19 (42%) from the three point line.

Sabrina Rude was absolutely on fire in this game for MSU. The junior guard scored a game-high 29 points. Rude knocked down nine three-pointers in the game en route to her big scoring night. She also grabbed six rebounds for MSU as well.

Hailey Longtin and Liza Hoglo each added 17 points and six rebounds for Mayville State following Rude's 29. Hoglo was the co-leader in assists with six in the game. Kay Laforet also finished with six assists in the game for the Comets

Mariah Duran led the way for DSU with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting.

Mayville State University (5-2, 0-0) will be at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 to take on the University of Minnesota-Morris at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
