Women’s Basketball Rolls To 98-61 Win Over Presentation College

Sabrina Rude made 8 three-pointers for MSU in rout.

Mayville, N.D. -- The Mayville State Unversity women's basketball team put together another all-around spectacular performance Saturday afternoon for the crowd at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse, rolling to a 98-61 victory over Presentation College.

Five different Comet players hit double figures, none more impressive than Sabrina Rude with a game-high 24 points which saw her go 8-for-14 from the three-point line.

The play-of-the-day featured Rude who deflected a pass on the wing, chased it down to save it with a behind-the-back pass to Liza Hoglo, who in turn returned the ball to Rude as she knocked down another three-pointer on a great effort. She also finished the game with five rebounds.

Her hot shooting is nothing new for the Comets. The junior guard from McVille, North Dakota is currently shooting 43% (66-153) from three point land which is good for 10th in the nation. She is also ranked #5 in the NAIA for three's made per game (3.5).

Hailey Longtin followed Rude in scorin with 18 points, three steals, and three assists. She shot 6-of-16 from the field in the game and knocked down three shots from the outside.

Hoglo followed Longtin with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting. She was active on the glass as well with nine rebounds as well as six assists.

Marcisa McMillan and Sam Heier each scored 11 for Mayville State and both had great all-around performances in the game.

Heier, the current NSAA player-of-the-week almost recorded her second triple-double in as many game. The senior guard from Ray, North Dakota finished with 11 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds for the Comets.

Mayville State ended the game shooting 47.9 percent () from the field and was 40 percent (16-of-40) from the three-point line. The Comets outrebounded the Saints 50-25, led by Missy Kassube and McMillan. Kassube provided a lot of energy of the bench and some great hustle plays to give the Comets extra possessions.
