The #23 Comets Women's Basketball team traveled to Dickinson to take on the Blue Hawks in their North Star Conference opener.

The Comets hit their first three shots, all 3-pointers to take a 9-6 lead. After that, however, the Comets went ice-cold converting only 6 of 31 field goals in the first half and fell behind 28-39. The shooting improved slightly in the 2nd half, but the Comets never were able to get a big run to cut into the lead and eventually were defeated 59-75.

Jenna Lundon led Mayville State with 16 points and 3 steals, Alyssa Lentner achieved her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Joelle Ertl scored 11 points and Andi Gayner added 10 points.

The loss snaps Mayville State's winning streak. The Comets will try to start a new one against #13 Jamestown Saturday night at the Lewy Lee. This game has been designated as the NAIA Game of the Week! Tipoff is at 4pm.
