Comets shoot down Pilots in back to back wins

The Comets women's basketball team scored 51 of their points in the first half of today's game and only gave up 18 points in that same half. The second half of the game the Comets scored 43 more points, earning them a 94-30 point win over the Pilots.

MSU shot 17-of-41 in the first half, including 11-for-15 from the free throw line. Providence made only 8 of 32 attempts and went 1-for-2 on the free throw line.

Four Comets ended today's game in double digits. Andrea Skillingstand (SO/St. Cloud, MN) came off the bench and posted a double-double for the Comets (14 points, 14 rebounds).

Claire Blascziek (SO/Lakeville, MN) led the way for the Comets with 28 points and 7 steals, while Naomi Torgerson (SO/Anoka, MN) had 11 points and 6 assists for the day.

The Comets finished at 44.4% shooting (26-81 overall, 9-38 from three) and sank 13-15 free throws. The Pilots were at 20.3% (13-64 overall, 3-15 from three) and 1 of 4 from the foul line. The Comets defense was very aggressive causing 28 turnovers by the Pilots, which led to 44 Mayville points.

Alison Zajac led the Pilots with 7 point, Frances Lerma was right behind her with 6 points and 2 assists.

November 3rd the Comets will be back in action at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse when the Defenders of Dordt College come to town.
