Men's Basketball host Blue Hawks for non-conference game Tuesday

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Men's Basketball team hosts Dickinson State Tuesday night at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse for a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM against the Blue Hawks.
 
For home basketball games, head coaches will have a pass list of 50 spots (to exclude participants and game day personnel/administration) to fill. Outside of this, there will be no fans allowed at games. Fans will have to pay the admission charge unless they have a pass of some sort. All fans who enter MUST be on a coach's pass list. No fans for opposing teams will be admitted.

The Comets enter the non-conference midweek match with a 2-0 record on the season after defeating Oak Hills Christian 103-73 Friday night at the Lewy Lee. Mayville State through two games are averaging 97.0 points, 51.5 rebounds, shooting 58.8 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from behind the 3-point line, and 13.5 free throws made per game. The Comet defense in two games is allowing 75.5 points per game, 28.5 rebounds, 35.2 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from behind the arc, and forcing 11.0 turnovers per game. Keiron Goodwin has a team-leading 24.5 points, on 66.7 percent shooting from the field, 10.5 rebounds, and a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. Thomas Gieske is averaging a double-double off the bench through the first two games with 12.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. John Ketchel and Tyler Goodlow has a team-high three 3-pointers made on the season. Ketchel is also averaging double figures with 10.0 points and 3.5 assists per game. Cameron Fisher and Latrelle Franklin have a team leading 11 assists. Fisher is also averaging 6.5 points and 3.0 rebounds. The Comets per picked second in the NSAA Preseason Coaches Poll with 51 points and one 1st place vote. Bellevue was picked first with 57 total points and seven 1st place votes.
 
Matching up with the Blue Hawks:
The Blue Hawks enter the non-conference game with a 2-2 record on the season dropping to #21 Carroll College by a final of 77-61 Friday. Dickinson State is averaging 58.8 points per game, 28.0 rebounds, shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from behind the arc. Ajdin Toskic is leading the Blue Hawks in points with 18.7 points per game, he is also averaging 5.7 rebounds, shooting 60.6 percent from the field, and has dished out seven assists. Bryce Knox is second on the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game, he is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from behind the arc, and has pulled in 6.7 rebounds per game.
