Milwaukee, WI - The Mayville State University Women's Basketball team picked up win number one of the season on Friday evening defeating the RedHawks of Indiana University Northwest.

How It Happened:

The Comets outscored the RedHawks in the first quarter by 14 going 10-of-15 from the field in the quarter. 

In the second quarter, the RedHawks cut into the Comet lead as MSU took an eight-point lead heading into the intermission.

In the third quarter, the RedHawks cut the lead to one before a 12-4 run to take an eight-point lead with one minute left in the quarter. 

In the fourth quarter, MSU was outscored by two points but the seven-point lead was enough to pick up win number one on the season. In the game, the Comets shot 43.1 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from behind the 3-point line, and went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
