Men's Basketball looks to stay in first place this weekend as they host V-Hawks and Warriors

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University men's basketball team host V-Hawks and Warriors for the final two home games of the regular season. Tip-off on Friday is scheduled for 7:30 pm and 5:00 pm on Saturday.
 
Mayville State University indoor events will be increasing the spectator limit until further notice. Following the moderate (yellow risk) COVID-19 protocol, Mayville State is allowing up to 550 spectators at all home indoor contest. All spectators at this time will be on a first come first served basis. Masks are still required during home events and social distancing is strongly encouraged. Concessions will still be served during home events.
 
Quick Hits on the Comets:
The Mayville State University Men's Basketball team enters the weekend with an 11-4 overall record and a one-game lead on four teams heading into the last three regular-season games.
The Comets went 2-0 last weekend, as MSU defeated Bellevue University 83-71 and Dakota State 74-67 on Friday and Saturday.
MSU is averaging 81.4 points per game, shooting 47.8 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from the 3-point line, tallying 39.3 rebounds, and 16.4 assists per game.

Viterbo University enters the weekend with a 10-6 overall record and 7-4 in NSAA play. Last weekend the V-Hawks went 2-0 defeating Valley City State and Dickinson State.
The V-Hawks are averaging 73.4 points per game, shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from behind the arc, and pulling in 32.6 rebounds per game.
Defensively, VU is allowing 70.8 points per game, 47.6 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from the 3-point line, 32.0 rebounds per game, and forcing 13.4 turnovers per game.

Waldorf University is entering the weekend with a 5-14 overall record and 4-7 in conference play. Last weekend, the Warriors went 1-1 defeating the Blue Hawks and dropping the second game to Valley City State.
The Warriors are averaging 70.1 points per game, shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 28.5 percent from behind the arc, and averaging 36.5 rebounds per game.
Defensively, WU are currently allowing 79.9 points per game, 45.8 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from the 3-point line, and forcing 11.6 turnovers.
Quincy Minor Jr. is leading the conference in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and shooting 48.6 percent from the field.
Second on the team in scoring is Lorenzo Smith averaging 13.4 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and dishing out a team-high 49 assists.
