Comet Baseball travels to Presentation College for weekend conference series

Mayville, N.D. - The Mayville State Baseball team heads to Presentation College this weekend for a four-game conference weekend. The first pitch on Friday is scheduled for 5:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday. 

Quick Hits on the Comets:

The Mayville State Comets enter the non-conference game with a 13-8 overall record and 2-2 in NSAA play.
Last week the Comets went 2-3 on the week dropping a non-conference game to Valley City State and then splitting a four-game series with Bellevue University.
The Comets are currently averaging a .231 batting average with 149 hits, 34 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 84 runs batted in, and a .338 on-base percentage.
In the field, MSU has a .941 fielding percentage, a 3.70 earned run average, allowing 161 hits, 69 earned runs, 74 walks, and 182 strikeouts.
The Comets are led by Marcus Hughes, hitting .342 on the season with 13 hits, one triple, six runs batted in, and a .395 on-base percentage.
Payton DeLuca is second on the team with a .294 batting average with 15 hits, two doubles, one triple, and three runs batted in.
Jared McCorrister is leading the team in hits and runs batted in with 23 hits and 13 runs batted in. He is also hitting .288 on the season with eight doubles and two home runs.
Kenneth Stewart is leading the Comets pitching staff with a .159 earned run average, 22.2 innings pitched, 10 hits, four earned runs, 11 walks, and 33 strikeouts.
Parker Stohr tallied a 1.66 earned run average with three wins, 21.2 innings pitched, 24 hits, four earned runs, two walks, and 34 strikeouts.
Matthew Johnston also has three wins on the season with a 2.73 earned run average allowing 13 hits, eight earned runs, 13 walks, and 29 strikeouts.

Matching up with the Saints:

The Presentation College Saints enter the conference weekend with a 5-21 overall record and 1-3 in conference play. 
The Saints is averaging a .221 batting average, with 158 hits, 27 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, and 79 runs batted in.
