Men's Basketball ends three-game losing streak by defeating Vikings Friday

Valley City, N.D. – The Men's Basketball team ends a three-game losing streak by defeating Vikings on Friday night by a final score of 80-76.

How It Happened:
Mayville State started the game on a 6-0 run that lasted over the first five minutes of the game.
MSU held a four-point lead with 5:38 left in the first half when VCSU went on an 11-4 run to close the half and take a 3-point lead on the Comets heading into the intermission.
Valley City State and Mayville State would trade baskets for the first six minutes of the half and MSU would tie the game at 54 on a basket from Kramer.
The Comets trailed by four with 5:29 left in the game and would a 3-point play from Gieske and another basket from Dillenbeck to give MSU the one-point lead with 4:38 left in the game.
After a made free-throw from Joseph with 3:17 left in the game, no baskets were scored for almost three minutes as VCSU hit two free-throw with 38 seconds left to cut the lead to two but Franklin would hit a shot with seven seconds left to secure the victory 80-76.
For the game, MSU shot 57.9 percent from the field, 18.8 percent from behind the 3-point line, pulling in 41 rebounds, and dishing out 12 assists.
They also finished with 58 points in the paint, 39 bench points, 11 second-chance points, and 4 points off turnovers.
