Women's Basketball team uses strong first half in victory over Warriors

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State University Women's Basketball team used a strong first half to defeat the Warriors by a final of 72-49. The Comets out-scored the Waldorf Warriors 46-18 in the first half.

How It Happened:
The Mayville State Comets started the game on a 9-2 run that lasted over the first four minutes of the game and would lead by 20 heading into the second quarter.
In the first quarter, MSU would shoot 56.3 percent from the field, pull in nine rebounds, and shot 50.0 percent from behind the 3-point line.
The Comet defense continued to shut down Waldorf in the second quarter only allowing 12 points in the quarter and taking a 28-point lead heading into the halftime break.
The Comets continued to extend the lead in the third quarter as jumped out to a 31-point lead early in the quarter and would lead by 26 heading into the final quarter.
The Warriors would out-score the Comets in the final quarter by three points but would end up picking up the 72-49 victory.
