Five Comets in double figures in conference win over V-Hawks

La Crosse, Wisc. – The Mayville State Women's Basketball team jumps out to an early lead on Friday evening and cruises to an 84-65 victory over the V-Hawks.

How It Happened:
Over the first six minutes of the first half, MSU jumped out to a 14-4 lead over the V-Hawks highlighted by a couple of buckets from Zrust.
The Comets would continue to hold an 8-point lead heading into the second quarter. Mayville State would open the game in the second quarter as they went on a 9-0 run to start the quarter and extend the lead to 17.
Two good free throws from Decker with 14 seconds left in the half gave MSU a 17-point advantage heading into the halftime break.
Mayville State would continue to extend the lead in the second half as they jump out to a 22-point lead with six minutes left in the third quarter on a layup from Zrust. The Comets took a 19-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, and it would stand as both teams scored 23-points in the final quarter.
The Comets would finish the game shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 42.1 percent from behind the 3-point line, pulling in 35 rebounds, and dishing out 16 assists.
They also finished with 38 points in the paint, 11 points off turnovers, 9 bench points, and 7 second-chance points.
