Comet Softball dropped two conference games to Bruins Thursday afternoon

Mayville, N.D. – The Mayville State softball team dropped two home games to Bellevue Bruins on Thursday afternoon at Jerome Berg Field.

How It Happened: Game One
The Bellevue Bruins started the scoring in the third inning by scoring four runs. The Bruins added another run in the fourth inning on a solo home run to make it 5-0. Bellevue would add two more runs in the top of the fifth inning to make it a 7-0 lead.
Mayville State would enter the scoring column in the bottom of the sixth inning on a three-run home run off the bat of Duval that scored Stegman and Larkin to make it a four-run game.

How It Happened: Game Two
The game was scoreless heading into the fifth inning when Bellevue scored the first run of the game. The Bruins would add a second run in the top of the sixth inning on a solo home run to make it 2-0.
Mayville State would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo home run from Fierro to cut the lead in half. Later in the inning, Ontiveros doubled to left field that scored Larkin to tie the game at 2.
The Bellevue Bruins would hit another home run in the seventh inning to take a one-run lead and take the second game by a final score of 2-3.
