Madison, S.D. – The Mayville State University Volleyball team dropped a conference game in straight sets on Thursday evening to Dakota State.

How It Happened:

In the first set of the match, MSU was only trailing by two when Dakota State would go on a 10-4 run to jump out to an 8-point advantage at the end of the set and would take game one by a final score of 25-16.

The second set was tied at 13 before another important run in the middle of the set would help Dakota State jump out to a 20-15 advantage late in the second set. Mayville State had the DSU lead down to four multiple times but could not get any closer and would drop the second set by a final of 18-25.

The Comets were trailing by one point early in the third set when the Trojans went on a 14-5 run to jump out to a 19-9 lead and would sweep the Comets on Thursday night.

Mayville State would finish with 25 kills, and 16 attack errors for a .085 hitting percentage. They also finished with 39 digs, six block errors, and two service aces.
