Mayville, ND – The Mayville State Men's Basketball team swept the conference weekend with two close victories against Dakota State and Bellevue.

How it Happened:
The comets started the game with a 6-0 run in the first three minutes of the game to jump out early on the Trojans. In the second quarter, the comets had a 14-0 run in the last 4 minutes of the half. The comets had 20 bench points in the first half.
The comets had a 7-4 run in the first two minutes of the second half. The comets had a 9-0 run in four minutes during the last five minutes of the second half. The comets recorded 16 rebounds in the second half.
The comets finished the game shooting 56.4 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from the three-point line, 69 percent from the free-throw line, and recorded 32 rebounds, and 31 bench points.

Game Two:
The Bruins started the game fast on Saturday scoring the first eight points of the game and held until Gieske gave MSU the lead with 8:15 left in the first half.
Mayville State would not give the lead up the rest of the half and took a 2-point lead heading into the halftime break.
The game was tied in the second half at 47, as both started hitting shots in the second half but Mayville State would continue to lead most of the game until the final 25 seconds on a made basket from Bellevue that forced overtime.
In Overtime, Bellevue would score the opening basket but Mayville answered with back-to-back baskets and took the lead, and would not give it up with the Comets hitting crucial free throws down the stretch to win.
The Comets finished the game shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from behind the 3-point line, 32 rebounds, 50 points in the paint, and 20 points off turnovers.
