Baseball scores two runs in ninth to take one game against Warriors

Forest City, Iowa – Comet Baseball comes back in the first game of the doubleheader Monday but Waldorf takes three from Comets.

The Waldorf Warriors started the weekend off strong scoring eight runs in the first two innings of the game.
Mayville State would get on the board in the top of the seventh inning on a solo home run from LaRocque.
Jessamine would hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to push another run across but it wasn't enough in game one as the Comets drop game one by a final of 10-2.

Game Two:
The Warriors started the second game scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning on a home run but the Comets answered with one run in the top of the second on a Ferrera single that scored McCorrister.
Waldorf would score runs in the second, third, and fourth inning to jump out to a huge advantage and end up take game two by a final of 10-1.

The Comets scored one run in the first and second inning to jump out to an early 2-0 lead on RBI singles from McCorrister and LaRocque. The Warriors would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead in half.
Mayville State would answer with one run in the top of the sixth inning on an infield single from Hughes that scored Ferrera. The Warriors would answer again in bottom of the inning to cut the lead to one.
MSU would continue to fight off the Warriors by scoring one run in the top of the seventh inning on a single from Villanueva to give a two run cushion back to the Comets. The Warriors finally tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning by scoring two runs.
Waldorf would take the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with the chance to close the game but the Comets did not let them. MSU would score two runs in the frame on a RBI groundout from Jessamine and a RBI single from Marquez gave them the lead and DeCaro closed out the game in the ninth.

The Waldorf Warriors started the last game of the series on fire scoring 7 runs in the first inning to jump out to an early lead.
The Comets answered in the top of the second inning by scoring three runs on an RBI single from Ferrera, bases loaded walk from Senden, and a sacrifice fly from Hughes.
Mayville State would have the bases loaded in the fourth inning but could not push any runs across as the Comets could not score any more runs and lose the final game of the series 10-3.
